Finally there’s Bandcamp. As usual you can search by artist, album, or genre, and so far I’ve had no problems when listening to songs or finding gig dates. But, and now here’s the clincher, Bandcamp lets the artist sell digital and solid copies of their music directly through the website, allowing you to decide the quality and file-format that you download the music in, or even let you choose how much you wish to pay, in a Radiohead In Rainbows fashion. This definitely has to be a step in the right direction, not only for hearing new music, but for supporting those who make it as well.
However, should Bandcamp not be your thing it's worth checking out Last.fm, since Jonny mentioned it in an earlier post. There’s The Sixty One - which can be used whilst wearing mittens... and if that sounds impossible then take a look for yourself. Also Purevolume and The Tap Music are worth a mention, as both possess a similar (yet more reliable) design to MySpace. Whatever camp you’re in, pitch up and have a listen.
