This Will Destroy You.....

As Jonny said previously, a lot of music has passed us by; and the one that passed me by, surprisingly, was the release of the new This Will Destroy You material. The single, entitled Moving on the Edges of Things, has been fleeting its way through the internet for a while now but only just found its way to me after listening to it on Spotify.

Having loved both Young Mountain and This Will Destroy You (self-titled), I initially found Ritual very hard to listen to. The first three minutes are entirely drone and very reminiscent of Sunn 0))) in my opinion. However, after this, the track really yields a brilliant build up. The slow introduction of the drums is just sublime. It’s definitely a different direction for them compared to earlier material, but one I definitely look forward to with the auspicious release of Tunnel Blanket on 10th May this year.
